Signs of Spring - Junior Infants

Signs of Spring – What Junior Infants observed and learned.

We had great fun learning about Spring. We watched videos and read stories about what happens in Spring. We explored new growth on trees in Spring and learned the different parts of a trees such as bark, branch, twig, buds, leaves, trunk etc. We demonstrated our learning by cutting out words and  labelled the parts of the tree.

Then we decided to explore the changes around our school environment in Spring. We went on a Spring hunt and used a checklist and record sheet to record signs of Spring. We observed new buds growing and found some very sticky buds as well as baby leaves growing. We also saw lots of flowers and vegetables beginning to grow in our school garden.

We used our clipboards to tick off the things we saw.

We felt like real scientists with our clipboards!

The daffodils are very brightly coloured.

We didn't see everything on the list.
